Below you will find the answers to the questions that we are most frequently asked regarding working with Functional Fitness. We hope you will find it informative.

Question: “How many days a week will I have to workout with Functional Fitness?”

Functional Fitness:

This depends on your specific goals. Most people in the beginning will need hands on guidance anywhere from 1-3 times a week. As you progress through the program you can meet with a trainer as little as once a month.

Question: “Do I have to join a gym or health club?”

Functional Fitness:

That’s completely up to you. Everyone has a comfort zone when it comes to their workouts. Some people love the gym while others have great workouts right in their homes. Whether we meet at a health club or your living room our goal is to make fitness fit into your life so it will stay in your life. One of the biggest advantages of the in-home workout is that the workout comes to you. No waiting in line for a machine or getting side tracked talking to friends.

Question: “How quickly can I expect to see results with Functional Fitness?”

Functional Fitness:

This will vary from person to person but most people notice visual results in as little as 2-3 weeks. The more you’re committed toward the total program, the quicker the results will become visible.

Question: “Do woman have to worry about developing big bulky muscles?”

Functional Fitness:

I know quite a few men who have been trying to develop big bulky muscles for years and still haven’t achieved their goal. So to answer you question, NO. The majority of women do not have the level of testosterone needed to achieve such muscular development. If your goals are to get a firm feminine physique, that’s exactly how we will train you. Each program is designed for an individual’s specific goals and we have no cookie cutter programs like you see in fitness and beauty magazines.

Question: “If I choose to train at my home, will I have to purchase a treadmill for my cardio activity?”

Functional Fitness:

It certainly doesn’t hurt to have a cardio machine at your home, but it is not necessary. During our initial consultation and throughout our sessions together we will discuss all types of alternative ways to burn calories in place of the normal health club machines. In most cases the activities we choose to perform will be a lot more fun and enjoyable than pounding away on a treadmill indoors in front of a TV monitor.

Question: “How sore will I be after each workout?”

Functional Fitness:

You’ll experience some muscle soreness in the first couple of weeks, but I assure you, it’s not going to be as bad as you think. The more physically fit you become the better your body will recover. Another great advantage of having one-on-one guidance and a professionally designed fitness program is that we take you through it at your own pace. In the beginning we pull you along rather than push. There will be plenty of time to push you once the proper foundation is in place.

Question: “How long will a session with Functional Fitness last?”

Functional Fitness:

One-on-one sessions will run 35-60 minutes. Each client will be responsible for a 5-6 minute warm-up and a light stretch followed by the workout itself. Once we have completed the workout it is always recommended to cool down with a light walk and an easy stretch. Some clients will require assistance by our trainers with stretching until better flexibility is achieved.

Question: “How much weight will I lose on a 3 month program with Functional Fitness?“

Functional Fitness:

Your goal is FAT loss, not just weight loss and when programs are followed with focus and intensity on average our clients lose 7-23 pounds over a three month training program.
This will depend solely on client commitment.
